Driver Requirements 

• We will only hire to UK licence holders aged between 25-75. You must have held your driver’s licence for a minimum of two years and have two years current experience driving the type of vehicle hired. 
• All drivers must provide two current proofs of address e.g. utility or bank statements in their name and dated within the last three months. We do not accept mobile phone bills. 
• We will not hire to persons who have been disqualified from driving during the last 36 months and/or who have more than 8 points on their driving license and/or any of the following offence codes - 

-Theft or unauthorised taking UT

-Drink or Drugs DR or DG

-Dangerous Driving DD

-Driving whilst disqualified BA

-Driving whilst uninsured IN

-Accident Offences AC

-Careless Driving CD

-Licence Offences LC30-50

-Miscellaneous MS50-90

-Mutual Recognition MR

-Special Code/Totting Up TT

 

• We will not hire to persons who have had their insurance declined and/or renewal refused and/or insurance or cover cancelled by any motor insurer
• We will not hire to persons engaged in any of the following occupations:

-Professional sportsman or sportswoman

-The entertainment or theatrical profession

-Racing or gambling

-Foreign Armed forces or Foreign Embassy

• We will not hire to persons who have been involved in more than one fault incident within the last 3 years
• We will not hire to persons with a current criminal conviction which is not spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
• We will not hire to carriage of passengers or goods for hire and reward including ride-hailing &/or food delivery within the GIG economy &/or any carriage of goods or persons for any form of profit or remuneration
• We will not hire to any person other than the hirer who has completed a rental agreement 
• Will not hire to any person who is not a British or EU citizen

 

UK Drivers Licence

All customers with a UK driver's licence must have a licence check prior to booking. We can do this using our online systems with a photo of both front and back of your licence. 

 

Mileage Restriction

Mileage Allowance:  200 miles for first day. 150 a day after. Then 20 pence per mile thereafter. 

 

Age Restrictions

We can normally only insure drivers between the age of 25-75. If you do not fall within this age range please call us and we will see if special arrangements can be made.

 

Payment Method

All rental require full payment in advance by Credit or Debit card which must be in the hirer/main driver’s name.

We do not accept Cash.

 

Cancellation Policy

The renter will be liable for the following charges in the event of cancellation of booking.

• More than 48 hours before booking: No charge.
• 24 hours - 48 hours booking: 50% of total charge.
• Less than 24 hours before booking: 100% of total charge.
• If you make a reservation within 24 hours of your pickup time you will still be liable for the above cancellation charge.

We can't postpone or transfer money from one hire to another. ROCKET VEHICLE HIRE reserves the right to amend its cancellation policy for certain events.

 

PCN administration Charge

An administration fee of £45 for processing any fines or offences against the Vehicle, Owner, Renter, any Authorised Driver or any other person Renter permintted to use the Vehicle during the Rental Period. 

 

Early Returns

We do not give refunds or credits for rental days unused.

 

Travelling outside the UK mainland

• If you would like to drive outside the UK mainland and into Europe, please call us to discuss your arrangements on 0333 772 1996
• Any vehicle taken outside the UK mainland without prior consent & the relevant documentation, will be void of any insurance cover and will result in the full excess charge of £1,000 being taken from your payment card. The hirer will also be liable for all losses incurred by us and / or any third party.
• No vehicle is authorised to travel outside of Europe under any circumstances.
